In honor of National Seersucker Day, Forbes magazine featured Haspel in an article and photo spread on the origins and history of the Americans menswear classic - the seersucker suit.
In the piece, titled “Luxury Lineage: A Brief History of the Seersucker Suit,” Forbes traces the seersucker suit from its American origins in 1909 to its present-day status as a summer formalwear staple.
From the article…
“The seersucker suit was born when Joseph Haspel, a New Orleans haberdasher, reimagined the working-class fabric as a lightweight alternative for southern businessmen.”
